Six bands, $500 in total prize money, studio time, and socks. Lots of socks. Ethos teams up with the UO Cultural Forum and Ninkasi Brewing this Saturday, January 29, to host their second annual Bandest of the Bands competition at WOW Hall. Rare Monk, Mudpuppy, Jameson and the Sordid Seeds, Tyler Fortier, Vinnie and the Rips, and Grace Mitchell will compete head-to-head to win the title of the “bandest” band. Votes will be cast via sock donation so bring a pair of new socks to the event and use them to vote for your favorite performance. Once the socks have been tallied they will be donated to Womenspace, a local domestic violence shelter.
The winning band with receive $250, studio time from topsecret productions, a feature article in the spring 2011 issue of Ethos, and possibly a slot at the Summer in the City concert series. Second place will receive $250.
Doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 7pm. Admission is $5 with socks, $7 without.
