Story and Photos by Emily Fraysse
Just a day shy of Halloween, the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art hosted a night of celebration in honor of the festival Dia de los Muertos. The celebration is a Mexican holiday where family and friends pray for and remember others whom have passed on. The evening was filled with traditional music from el Bajio, Mexico and Mexican folk art practices including sugar skulls, poetry from the Oak Hill School honors Spanish students, and display of a traditional Mexian ofrenda, also known as a Day of the Dead altar.
